From the Publisher:
Thirteen-year-old twins Andrew and Kristine Taylor are continuing their journey with the crystal locket, which they first discovered in present-day Virginia. This time, they find themselves in ancient Crete, a highly advanced civilization, with indoor plumbing and awe-inspiring architecture, as well as the fabled city of Atlantis. In Crete, they face their dreaded nemesis Chimera, where things are not as they seem and the mysteries run deep. This time, their challenges are harder, their enemies more cunning, and their will even stronger, as they again battle the forces that could destroy their world…but is it enough to thwart their enemies in time?

Review:
The Secrets of the Hidden Pyramids is the second book in the Crystal Locket Series, that I posted about a few weeks ago.  These are fun, fast-paced time travel books.  Andrew and Kristine are 13 year old twins traveling through time avoiding a couple different enemies – all while trying to chase down and find their parents.  I think the kids really seem to mature and act a lot older on their journey throughout this book.

I enjoyed this second book and found it really fast paced. My oldest son, who is 11, kept asking me so many questions.  He really likes the time pyramids and thinks Atlantis is cool.  I know he would enjoy this book more than the first, although I think I enjoyed the time periods in the first more than the ones in this book, but that’s all just a personal opinion.

One thing I really like about these books is that there is adventure and something you can’t guess every corner, but there is also so much you can learn about different time periods and cultures.  It’s great for kids.

I know this has nothing to do with the actual book, but I really like the new cover designs too. Both books got new covers recently and I really love the way that they look – nice and clean and appealing.

There are a couple more books in this series that are not out yet.  The third one will be variable on kindle soon, and you can get the first two on kindle as well.  If you, or your kids, like Percy Jackson, Heroes of the Olympus or even Spirit Animals I think you should give these books a try.
