Weekend Wrap Up: 21

Last week was a slower week for running.  I’ve had the worst summer allergies.  Not sure what is going on, but I think I am finally finding an allergy pill that helps and doesn’t make me want to sleep all day.  

I ran/walked with some friends on Monday, went road biking with some friends (first time!) on Wednesday and then ran 2.4 miles Friday and finished the week with a 10 mile run on Saturday.  I love running at dawn.  It’s amazing to see the sun come up over the mountains.  I found a different route I like that has a water stop around mile 4 too!

If you follow me on facebook (and if you don’t, you should!) you probably already know I’ve been doing the gallon-of-water-a-day challenge that I posted about a few weeks ago.  Today is day 7!  I can’t believe that I made 7 days in a row drinking so much water. I really don’t like water and have such a hard time drinking it. Keeping a gallon of water in the fridge, a cup with a straw and those flavor water drops did make it so much easier though. I haven’t decided if I’m going to continue with a gallon a day.  Maybe a smaller amount.  

Did you shop Amazon Prime Day?  I love Amazon!  I saved some gift cards for this and cashed them in with a sale to get a fitness tracker.  I went with the Garmin Vivo Fit.  I really wanted one with a watch on the face.  I also really like that I can see the steps and the red bar that tells me that I’ve been sitting too long.  Except on Saturday, when the red bar kept flashing at me even though I was WAY over my step goal, had run 10 miles!  Geez! 

Anyone want to do a step challenge with me?  Water challenge?  I’ll be honest, you’ll probably kick my hiney at that last one!
