Weekend Wrap Up: 22

August 3, 2015

This summer I’ve been able to do my long run on Friday over most of the summer.  Last Friday my sister and I did a 10 mile run. It wasn’t an amazing pace, but it felt good to finish it.

I feel like I’ve been cheating on summer a little bit since I’ve spent some time on the treadmill too the past two weeks.  It’s beautiful in the mornings, but sometimes it just works out better in my schedule to run in the afternoon or evening, and not have to worry about what the kids are doing because they are just in the other room.

Which brings me to some sad news…

I think I’m going to break up with Map My Run.  I haven’t 100 percent totally convinced myself, but it’s something I’ve tried out a couple days.  Sine I got my Garmin VivoFit, all my steps and runs are all in my Garmin Connect app and account.  I love that it’s all hooked together…and don’t get me wrong, I love the community of friends that I have on Map My Run…but here is where it gets confusing….my vivofit won’t connect with Map My Run (MMR).  And while my runs from my Garmin watch will sync with MMR, the treadmill runs that I log on MMR won’t sync the other way onto Garmin.
Does this even make sense?
So…long story short, I have to log in both places.  Which is kinda annoying.
First world problems, right?

(but the one great bonus was last week when I didn’t realize that both accounts were synced with My Fitness Pal and it duplicated my workout and all of the sudden I had 900 extra calories that I could eat that day!)

Do you use a fitness tracker?
Do you have an app to log your runs?
What do you use and do you love it, why or why not?
Should I break up with Map My Run? What do you think?

I’ve recently made a goal to run at least 20 miles a week.
Here is the breakdown for last week:
Monday: 3 (treadmill)
Tuesday: 4.16 (outside)
Wednesday: 4 (treadmill)
Thursday: rest day for running, but I did walk 2 miles while watching a new show on the treadmill)
Friday: 10.03 (outside)
Saturday: 5 (treadmill)
Total: 26.19 miles total

July monthly total:
90.05

Summer has been great!  We are looking forward to the last couple weeks before school starts.
We have our family reunion and big road trip this week..the one we have been waiting for all year!  I’m not sure how much running, or blogging will get done, but we can’t wait!
