November Book Club Ideas

October 23, 2015

I am embarrassed to admit that I have never been good at going to a real-life person book club. I am not sure why – maybe it’s just another night away from the family that I can never get scheduled, or maybe it’s the commitment of really having to read the book every month. We’ve also moved a LOT…maybe I feel like I’ve never stayed one place long enough to really set down roots with a club. I’m not really sure.  But I’ve sadly never caught on to the spirit of them. Although I think they sound like so much fun!

Which is exactly why I LOVE the virtual book club idea. Maybe that isn’t even the name for them?  I’ve seen bloggers break down books they are reading into different post and then I’ve read them along with them and discussed the books through comments and posts on their blogs and Instagram.    This is SO much easier for me!

Earlier this week I asked on my Facebook page if anyone would be interested in doing this sort of thing and you are! So we are going to give this a try!

Now comes the hard part – selecting the book.  I narrowed it down to 9.  It was much harder than I thought.  Some I have read before and wouldn’t mind re-reading and some are new to me too. Most of the book I selected from the library book club section, so if you are local, there are copies available.

We have:
Longing For Home by Sarah Eden;
Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson;
Say Goodbye to Survival Mode by Crystal Paine,
When the Emperor Wad Divine by Julie Otsuka;
Small Steps: The year I got polio by Peg Kehret;
Real Moms Making It Up As We Go by Lisa Clark;
Out of my Mind by Sharon Draper;
The Four Doors by Richard Paul Evans, and
Hope at Dawn by Stacy Henrie

Leave a comment on here, or Facebook or Instagram and let me know which book you are interested in reading.  I’ll then announce the book on Monday that we’ll read together in November!
