What Inspires You?  What inspires me.  And What Should I Do Now?

The other day someone asked me the question, what inspires me?  I should have been more prepared for the question  (it was an interview after all) and I think I gave a pretty good answer, but I’ve been thinking about this ever since.

What drives me to get up in the morning?  What gets me going? Why do I run?  Why do I read?  Why do I blog?

One major inspiration in my life (and the answer I gave) is my family.  I do a lot because of my family.  I love and because of that I serve them.

I love my Heavenly Father.  I love my Savior.  Because of that I want to be the best person that I can be.  I want to be the best woman, wife, mother, friend.  I want to read and blog and develop my talents and gifts.  I want to run and keep my body healthy.  I want to run and show my family that we can do hard things.  When I ran my last half marathon and I wanted to sit down and quit, I knew my family would be right around the corner.  And I knew my kids needed to see that we could do hard things.  We can finish hard things.  So I ran.  Slow as a turtle, but I ran that last half mile for them.

I think if you know me, you know by now that good books inspire me.  I love books.

So….I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but I got sucked into some online quizzes – answer these twenty questions and find out what inspires you. (please tell me you’ve done them too!) HA! I took a couple different ones and a couple different times and always came up with different answers.  There went 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

I think goals and accomplishments drive and inspire me.  It that a thing?  Is that possible?  I love to make a list  - and cross things off the list as I finish them.  I know that if I make a goal, and I write it down, then I feel a huge desire to finish it.

Yes.  I think it’s safe to say I am a goal motivated person.  Goals inspire me.  If that’s not a thing – I’m making it one.  I made a goal this year to run 4 half marathons.  I’ve finished that.  But now what?  Seriously – I found this funny quote on Instagram today – but it is totally me!  I don’t know what to do now!  I keep looking at the race schedule for next year, but I haven’t made any decisions what I’m going to do.

So now what?
Should I join a challenge? Make up a mileage goal to hit by the end of the year  Please don’t say I should do the whole 30 – I’ll tell you right now, I would fail miserably!  Any ideas?

What inspires you?  What drives you?  If you were asked that question – what would you say?
