From the Publisher:
Have a wonder-filled Christmas, people in Lukes new hometown greet one another as Christmas approaches. With no memory of a Christmas celebration, ten-year-old Luke feels excluded from the towns tradition, until he finds his deceased mothers nativity set. Touched by Marys protecting embrace of the Baby Jesus, Luke experiences his first Christmas Wonder. His discovery is the catalyst for a search that leads to a soul-changing season for neighbors as Luke finds his connection to heavenly love.  Robyn Buttars, author of the best-selling and award winning novella Christmas Rose, weaves an unforgettable holiday story for the entire family.

Review:

I really love having a few Christmas books around this time of year. I try to pick a couple each year and read through them during November and December. When I saw an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book for a review I jumped at it. It looked like it would be an awesome book for this season. I haven’t read any of Buttar’s other books but I read that she got great reviews on her Christmas book she wrote a few years ago. So I was really looking forward to reading this book.

The Christmas Wonder is a sweet story of a little nine year old boy, Luke, and a town tradition of “Christmas Wonders.” Luke doesn’t have much memories of a good Christmas and the story will touch you – have you laughing and crying at different moments as Luke discovers the true meaning of Christmas. The story is a bit predictable at the end, but I didn’t mind at all. I loved the ending and thought it was perfect!

If you are looking for a sweet short book to read this Christmas season this is a heart-warming story that anyone – men/women/ teens/adults – could enjoy. If there is someone who you know that needs a lift this year – this would be a great book to give as a gift. It was just the right book to read while you have a nice cup of hot chocolate, a cozy quilt and are sitting next to the Christmas tree.
