From the Publisher:

Women are tired of getting to the end of the day and realizing they haven’t done one thing for themselves. In The Fringe Hours, Jessica Turner revealed the pockets of time women already have in their day and encouraged them to use those fringe hours to practice self care and do the things they love. Now she’s ready to take readers a step forward, leading them through their own inspiring journey to a changed life.

Equally practical and beautiful, My Fringe Hours offers busy women both inspiration and a space to make its concepts their own. Each section includes thought-provoking questions, space for reflective journaling and planning, and targeted motivation to help them use their fringe hours to live more creative and fulfilled lives.

The perfect gift for the busy woman, this unique, interactive book gives clear guidance on how to begin a practice that will change her life.

Review:

Back on Christmas day, after the magical morning of waking up to snow, Santa visiting, opening presents and overall excitement everyone got quiet and spent the afternoon with their new toys. Then came the time I was looking forward too – one of my all time favorite gifts – quiet time for reading!  I gave myself a copy of My Fringe Hours for Christmas and couldn’t wait to take time to read it.

My Fringe Hours is a companion book to Jessica’s other book The Fringe Hours.  I read that book in the spring and have loved it.  It was one of my top picks last year.  I think every woman could learn something from Jessica’s books.  We are always trying to do so much, and take care of so many, that we often neglect to take care of ourselves too.  Jessica’s other book, The Fringe Hours is so motivational and really spoke to me.  My Fringe Hours is even better.  This is a perfect companion book – one that you might want to buy and give out as a gift.  It’s a journal and a book, it has lots of places to write and doodle and fill out with your thoughts and dreams.  I love that!

The pictures and graphics inside are so beautiful.  When I read the book I wasn’t thinking scrapbooks..but now that I’ve read it and looked through it again and again, I think if you are a scrapbooker (or former scrapbooker)- this might this is something that you would love as well.   When I had less kids I used to love scrap booking, and now life has just been busy and I am able to make digital pages here and there (I love the ease of Becky Higgins Project Life phone app) but another way that I “keep up” on my scrapbooks is through small one-liner journals and even by filing out my daily planner.  True…I probably fit more into the “former” scrapbooker category – but I think documenting life is important. And this book is perfect for documenting life!

I am a huge fan of both books!  This quote really sealed the deal for me.  I am such a busy wife, mom, I have so many roles I play.  But there are so many great things that can be done each and every day just by small and simple things.  I reminded me of my favorite Scripture: By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. -Alma 37:6

If you haven’t read The Fringe Hours, the kindle edition is currently on sale for $1.99!  That is a great price and it is worth every cent.  If you are a kindle reader grab a copy at the same price…but I really think if you want a copy of this book, you will want the real hard copy book.  And you might want to order one for your sister or best friend while you are at it.  Because we could ALL read this book.

I know it’s a little confusing about the two books, and Jessica posts more about the differences of the two on her blog.  You can read that post here.
