Weekend Wrap Up & Romance is in the Air Giveaway!

February 1, 2016

We woke up this morning to another winter storm. It’s a great excuse (and perfect weather) for a cup of hot chocolate, a comfy quilt and a good book.  This weekend was packed full.  I finished 10 miles on the treadmill Saturday morning.  My running motivation has been slacking lately and I haven’t run 10 in a couple weeks so it felt nice to finish them.  It gave me a great start to the day!  Saturday was packed full.

After my run, I had a hair appointment to get a new color (which I love!) and then my girls and I headed off to our church to set up for my husband’s surprise 40th birthday party!  My girls helped with the photo booth so it was a little silly looking but they had such a fun time.  His birthday is this week and it wasn’t a total surprise party- but he didn’t know about it until Saturday morning.  hehe!  He hates attention and never wants anything big for his birthday, but I threw him a big party at 30 so I knew I had to have another big one at 40! He reluctantly agreed to come, but in the end he had such a good time.  School and training has taken him all over the country and it was so fun to see friends from almost all our walks of life.  His best friend from growing up, his high school friends, his friends from single adults, our friends from the University of Utah, friends from Iowa, friends from Bountiful and of course here.  He even got notes from friends in Washington who couldn’t make it.  We had over 100 people come and he had such a fun time visiting with everyone!

Does anyone else have a hard time being present in a moment and taking pictures documenting a moment?  I have such a struggle with it!  I used to always have my camera out.  But for this party I left it all alone. This was the only picture we got of us together – a friend snapped it!  I have some mixed feelings about it, (the picture and not documenting like I know I should) but I do have to admit it was nice to just relax and visit and chat.

Sunday was full of church and family time.  I didn’t get as much reading time as I wanted in this weekend.  But I did finish one book and almost finished another.  I have some great posts planned this month and books to share with you!  But there isn’t a better way to start off the month than a giveaway, right?

Leave me a comment and let me know what you did this weekend!

And don’t forget to follow the instructions below and enter the giveaway…good luck!

Wow — 10 miles on the treadmill sounds awful! That’s what I’ve been stuck doing lately too, though. Too much snow on the ground to feel safe out there this weekend!
