Discover that you are not alone in your own parenting journey, or in the feelings you encounter along the way, as you also find that even mundane tasks like doing laundry can be comical. Raid your secret treat stash, put yourself in timeout, and ignore the messes your kids make while you laugh at someone else’s.

Review:

Amber is a blogging friend that I met in a facebook group last year.  We quickly found out we had a lot in common and I have loved learning so much from her since I met her.  As soon as I found out that she wrote a book, I quickly looked it up and downloaded it.  So I read her book last year…but I also re-read it recently too. It’s a fun little collection of thoughts that are easy to pick up and read and re-read like that!

Amber shares her stories of motherhood – the good, the bad and the funny – and in such a witty way.

“As sure as the sun rises each morning, there will always be laundry to do….Laundry is always there, doing what it does best, which is never go away.”

Amber is real – she doesn’t sugar coat and reading this book is like a breath of fresh air.  I have SUCH a hard time reading mommy blogs that leave me feeling deflated and no good.  I have five kids and we don’t always look like we stepped out of a GAP commercial.  We pretty much never do.  I love reading a book about motherhood that shares the good, but the bad days too.  There ARE bad days. And I am not a perfect mom. Amber shares her real life with a twist of humor.  Let’s face it, the least we can do is laugh at ourselves and our crazy days, right?  I wish we could have each others backs more often – moms – and women, instead of tearing each other down.  Amber’s book has your back.  She is one that builds you up and says, “it’s okay – we are all in this together”  I just felt like she was someone I could relate too on so many levels.

“The only mommy competition I could win would be for leaving exploded chili beans on the roof of the microwave the longest.”

Her chapter about meal time could have happened at our own house – it was funny to read it and think – this is what we probably look like on the outside.  But my favorite chapter had to be the chapter about boys.  I have 3 boys, and 2 girls. So I think I understand boys pretty well…but this chapter surprised me how much I loved it.  I thought it was going to be full of stories of potty talk and stinky smells (and it did) but it also pointed out to me how awesome boys really are!  It had me laughing and crying and was something that I really needed.

I really enjoyed this fun book. It was light hearted, but fun loving at the same time.  It showed good and bad and had a spiritual uplifting side that I didn’t expect too. I felt like I was sitting down and visiting with one of my best friends about our crazy families.  I came away from reading it (both times) feeling better about motherhood and my role as a mom. After reading this book I felt like I had other moms out there just like me!And I really appreciate Amber for the ability to keep it real, not condescending, and uplifting at the same time.  It has a great balance!

Thoroughly entertaining!  I’ve already re-read it, and probably will do so again too!

Hey! I know this is kinda off topic however I’d figured I’d ask.

Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a blog post
or vice-versa? My site discusses a lot of the same topics as yours and I feel we could greatly
benefit from each other. If you are interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail.
I look forward to hearing from you! Fantastic blog by the way!
