Summer Reading

June 30, 2016

July is tomorrow!  Where has the year gone!?  How is your summer going?  Mine is FLYING by…I am left longing for slow summer days sitting by the pool.  July just might bring some slow days, but June was a whirl wind of trips and activities.

I am looking forward to getting more blogging done in July.  I have so many books on my “to be reviewed” list!  Besides catching up reviews, here are three things I’m going to focus on in July….

  1. I’m looking forward to starting some new books this next month.  Including this series by one of my favorite clean/regency authors.

I’ve read a lot of her her regency/Mr. Darcy books but haven’t read any of her modern day books.  She recommended that I start with this one – so it’s first up on my July list. Last July I read 8 books in a 10 book series…maybe July can be my series month? I’ve been in such a reading slump, I am hoping that this new one does that trick!

2. I’ve updated my 2016 reading list. (you can access it here)  I’m currently at 56 books – so only 44 books to go towards my 100 books for the year.  I also need to really sit down and look at my 16 in 16 reading list and see what I’ve read and what I need to pick out to read next.  If the year is half over, ideally I should have read around 8 of the books on my list.

3. Running…now that my trips and adventures are over I can get back in a running grove too!  My goal was to run 4 half marathons this year.  I ran 2 this spring and I am registered for one more at the end of the summer.  But I need to get moving if I’m going to be able to do it!  I love that it gets lighter earlier in the morning, it’s a good way to beat the heat too.  Who wants to go for a run with me?!

How has your summer gone?   Are you doing any summer reading?  Running?  How are you staying busy?
