Taylor Dean
374 pages

From the Publisher:

Holly Sinclair is happily married to the love of her life, Gabriel. Young and in love, Holly hopes to have their first child soon. Of course, Gabriel wants to wait till Holly’s health is restored, much to Holly’s dismay. She feels perfectly fine. So what if she just woke up from an eight-month coma? So what if some of her memories are missing? She remembers Gabe and that’s all that matters, right?

That is, until HE enters her life again . . . she forgot about HIM.

Please note: This book deals with the sensitive subject of domestic abuse.

Review:

After reading Chasing Fireflies and loving it,  I really wanted to read a few more books by Dean.

I enjoyed I Have People.  It kept my interest and I did enjoy the story line. It was clean and dealt with a sensitive topic in a really respectful way.  I just didn’t love it as much as I loved Chasing Fireflies. Maybe I shouldn’t compare books like that, but I do tend to compaire books, espeically by the same author.

I felt that some of the relationships were rushed and not as believable.  But honestly, I had so many mixed feelings about this book! I felt the relationships were rushed and I thought some of it even seemed a little cheesy, but I didn’t know how else you could write a book that discuses such a serious topic such as domestic abuse and keep it clean and not disturbing at the same time.  So it was a toss up for me.  I just had a harder time seeing this as believable as I wanted too.

Despite that, the story was sweet and a bit predicable, but I did enjoy it.  It was a quick and easy read.  If you have Kindle Unlimited you are able to read it for free (along with many more of Dean’s books).  Even though I didn’t love it as much as I hoped, I still will be reading more of Dean’s books in the future.
