From the publisher:

Is it possible to feel peace when our lives and the world feel out of control? The short answer is yes!

Trying to manage the ups and downs of life can feel overwhelming, but fortunately we’re not alone on this journey. With inspiring doctrinal insights and a healthy dose of humor, author Michelle Wilson inspires readers to let go of fear and find peace, even in the midst of lost jobs, health challenges, or everyday chaos at home. In a world that seems so tempestuous, The Beautiful Balance is a sweet reminder of exactly what we can control—ourselves—and what God controls—all the rest.

Review:

Letting go of things that I cannot control is something that I’m working on a lot lately….if you’ve followed along in my posts, you probably have noticed that!  When I saw this book I was drawn to it because I knew it would have some great advice as well as some scriptural and spiritual twist on it too. Okay – it had a really pretty cover too…I’ll admit that might have had something to do with it.

But what I found was SO much more than a pretty cover.  This book is full of really great advice, stories, scriptures, humor, personal stories and inspiration that I needed to hear.  Everything that I am working on right now. I could mark almost every page, and will refer back to this book often.  But was resonates the most with me is probably this one quote….

“No, you do not have control over your surroundings, but there is no need to fear. I have given you control over the one thing that matters–yourself.”

Yes, there are things that I can change in my life.  And yes, there are things that I cannot change. Some things really stress me out. And it’s really unnecessary. Do I need to beat myself over them?  Can I choose to be happy no matter what?  Yes.  And that is what this book is about.

Great book if you have a hard time letting go, or need a gift idea for someone too.
