Review:
Last year I read Just Ella And Missing Lily, by Larsen, so when I heard she had another book coming out, I was pretty excited to read it. Saving Marliee came out in April and is one of the books on my summer reading list.
If you haven’t read the other books by Larsen that’s okay, but if you have, then you know that these are all about a family of sisters. But each story can be read individually and the reader won’t get lost. I LOVE that. Don’t get me wrong, I love a series, but sometimes I just want a good stand alone story….but at the same time sometimes I wonder what has happened to some of the characters, so this is just perfect for me. (Sarah M. Eden does this too – which I love!) The characters tie together just right. And from reading Annette’s blog, there will be more books to follow!
Back to Marilee….
This book was favorite. It touched on some deeper issues. Because of the plot, it did did seem a little more serious than her other books. But it was subject that needed some seriousness. And not so much fluff. At the same time the book was not heavy or hard to read. It was clean and enjoyable. I really enjoyed watching Marliee develop throughout the book.
I totally recommend this book. If you haven’t read Larsen’s other books (and have time) then go back and read them all in order. But if not, read this one. It’s a top pick. I can’t wait to see more from Larsen in the future.
