From the Publisher:
I Used to Be So Organized addresses the frustrations many women feel when they can’t get a handle on their lives. They know, deep in their hearts, they should be able to manage things. After all, they used to be organized . . . ten or twenty years ago. But now, life seems to hand them one distraction and challenge after another, and ”helpful technology” that just seem to add to the problem. Just when they think they have ”caught up,” something else changes, and there s more to be done.
In this book, Glynnis Whitwer addresses the issue of organization based in this new reality of information overload, overwhelming choices, increased expectations and technology advances that won t slow down. This book contains twenty-three chapters, each short enough for a busy woman to read during a lunch break. Every aspect of life comes together in this one easy-to-read guide.

Review:
Crystal Paine (Money Saving Mom) picked this as one of her book club books last month and since I love her blog – and her book picks are usually spot on for me I decided to read along.

I found I really enjoyed this book.  It is similar to other organizational books and has chapters that will help you organize your home, closets, kitchen, etc.  But there are also chapters and sections that really help us figure out the why behind it all and there are such encouraging and uplifting words too!  I found myself really relating to Glyniss

“Something had to change.  I was exhausted from setting myself up to fail and over committing my time.  And I was sick of berating myself for not being more organized and for being unable to handle things better.  I had to stop comparing myself to the “old” Glynnis who could mange life with ease.  My life had changed around me, and I needed to chance my practices in response.”

Does that sound like you? I know that the quote above really sounds like me.  If you are feeling overwhelmed and really feel like something needs to change I suggesting finding a copy of this book. It talks about leaving behind any times you’ve tried to organize in the past, no matter how that went – leave that behind.  But start today.  And small habits.  I need to work on picking small and simple things I can do in my life.  I think that is a key.
If you are interested in reading the posts from Money Saving Mom about the book you can read them here, here and here.  I love her comments and what she pulls from the book.

I loved this book.  Great motivation book with lots of practical ideas too.
