We made it to Friday! This week flew by, but I am looking forward to this weekend.
But first, I get to share with you my Friday Five favorites for the week.
Audio books
I have never been a huge fan of audio books. I’ve tired to listen to books occasionally while running and never really found it enjoyable. I work a part time job early in the mornings and sometimes I like to listen to a good podcast or two. Which got me thinking – if I can listen to a podcast, I should be able to listen to a book. So I decided to give audio books one more try. In the past I’ve usually tried to listen to non-fiction. So I was wondering if a good fiction book would do the trick? A Night Divided was available on the audio library, and I’ve heard really good things about it from a good friend. So I thought I would try it. I’m hooked! I find that I can even flip this on my blue tooth and listen to it in the car!
Do you listen to audio books? Or do you have a hard time listening to them? I still don’t know if it would hold my attention while running, but it works great while I’m working. Have any good suggestions?
I am loving this new shirt!
I ordered it off Cents of Style after seeing it on Delicious Reads (if you don’t follow their blog – you totally should! You can thank me later! 🙂 I was pretty excited it came just in time to wear it to story time on Tuesday. Now I just need a runner’s gonna run one.
16 in 16 Challenge Update
January is almost over and I need to get going on some of my books for my 16 in 16 Reading Challenge! A had a good friend recommend The War that Saved My Life, by Kimberly Brubaker Bradly to me and since it is a NewBerry Honor book as well as named one of Wall Street Journal’s best children’s book for 2015. I’m LOVING this story and totally counting it towards my “Book that has Won an Award”
This made me laugh.
It has been complicated this winter. I need to get over it.
February Book Club
And last, grab your copies and start reading! In February we are going to be reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo. This book has been on my reading list for a few months so I’m glad you all voted for it and pushed me to read it. I’m really curious and can’t wait to start reading!
Have any fun plans for this weekend?
Any good book suggestions?
